About the Preserves
The
HMP Preserve System is made up of smaller
individual
preserves that are managed mostly by the City of Carlsbad, Center for
Natural Lands
Management, California
Department of Fish
and Game, and a variety of Home Owner's Associations (HOAs).
Other properties are managed by the University of
California Natural Reserve
System and San Diego Habitat Conservancy. The names of individual
preserves
appear when your mouse hovers over a given colored area of the preserve
system map below (HOA areas are not included). Click on these areas to
find out
more information about each preserve. The different colors on
the map refer to different landowners. A color key is given in the map
legend at the bottom of the page.
